Abit KN8 SLi Motherboard

This board looked like it was a great value. Abit makes good MBs so when Fry's put it on sale I bought it right away. I tried to put it in a SA-1 Ione case (very nice) but the case wants a parallel port to link their front-panel display with the MB. No dice! The MB doesn't have a serial or parallel port (or plugs to add them). But more importantly, I was downloading some large files (e.g., Eclipse SDK ~120MB) and the files were all corrupted. Turns out that the on-board Ethernet port is faulty!! I'm now running my KN8-SLi with a USB-attached NetGear wifi adapter. Sheesh! No settings in BIOS or their chipset software could fix the networking problems. There goes the bargain out the window. I should return the damn board, but it's such a hassle disassembling and reassembling everything (again). Also, who designed the placement of the IDE plugs? They point towards the front of the case, not up from the MB. What were they thinking? And one final irritation: you can not get into BIOS with a USB keyboard! I had to attach a PS2 keyboard that was lying around in order to get into and modify the BIOS. For an all USB MB, that is plain bizarre! As soon as I save up the money, I'm dumping this lousy MB for a better one. I would have saved money by getting a better MB in the first place. So much for values... :-(
