Great for power PDA users
If you want a PDA to keep track of appointments and contacts, most will do. A Palm Zire costs $99 (retail) and can handle those tasks with ease.
However, some of us want our PDAs to do a lot more. If you want the ultimate in pocketable power and versatility, at the moment (June 2003), the...

A thousand uses! Very addictive!
After reading several other reviews of the iPAQ 5455 it became apparent that it does so many things that everybody seems to have different reasons for getting it. Some people who gave it poor reviews seemed to have gotten it with different uses in mind than I had. So maybe I should state what my... Read full review »
iPaq 5455 is a barely passable unit, not great for the money
To begin, let me say that this is my second PDA (both have been iPaq's). My first was the premier PocketPC unit from Compaq, before they merged with HP. I liked the first unit much more than this one and also thought that it was much more reliable. Isn't it supposed to be the other way around?

Palm vs. PocketPC (skip if you've already decided)
I got my first PDA in 1996. It was the US Robotics Palm Pilot with a monochrome screen. Back then, the Palm ran on AAA batteries. It was boring and colorless. I trusted my whole life to it and it served me well. It was simple, and its...

Jack of all trades, Master of few
When reading the specs of the h5455 I was excited about this product to say the least. The cornucopia of features in this device made it paragon of technological excellence. As soon as I scrounged up the money for it, I got it. The only apparent drawback was the lack of a CompactFlash slot, but I... Read full review »
stay away
Though relatively a new device (2003) is not supported anymore by HP.
Bought one three years ago, then upgraded to Mobile 2003, since then I'm able to connect to WLAN's. ROM upgrade does not work, so does HP's support.
Shame on them.

I'm Disappointed
I tried and I tried, but I give, uncle. Stick me with a fork, I'm done. This is the most that I've paid for so little in my life. Disappointing is putting it mildly. HP needs to be ashamed of themselves.
First, there are a ton of bugs. I sync at home and at the office. I can't go from one...

The world in the palm of your hand
I can't say enough good things about this little device. It keeps my schedule, transports documents to and from the office, shoots my business card at any other handheld owner, plays SEGA games, allows me to read books, keeps my bank information, allows me to manage expense accounts, backup TV... If Your On the GO
Where did PDA's come from, and look where they are going. At one time, they were there to store appointments and work as a Rolodex. Now, they have become a glorified Rolodex.
The next generations of PDA's are called Pocket PC's. They come with a simplified version of Microsoft Windows,...
