A PictureStation in your desk. The Stylus CX7800 is a must!

Pros Color monitor, 35mm scan and PictBridge a must.
Cons DuraBrite paper dilema... use it or not? Printer interface is poor.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Buy the USB cable (not included). Register the printer on epson.com and you receive a 10% rebate coupon. You can save some money buying ink or paper on-line.
This is an "all in one" category printer. I must to buy this printer (Best Buy $179.95) to replace other Epson printer, the CX6400 after one year and half of use(!). The reasons? No warranty, extremely used and injectors clogged. I love to do printouts at home.
The CX7800 came with new great features, like a small color monitor (1"1/2) where you can see digital photos and other things, like printer status and scrolling utilities. Other great feature is the PictBridge input, so you can connect your digital camera (that must have this feature too) directly to this printer to see and print photos without a computer. All you need is a USB cable. Also the CX7800 come with memory cards reader. Other great utility is the fact that you can scan your old 35mm negatives and slides (accessories came included).
The bizarre situation at this point, is the fact that the "DuraBrite" paper is not indicated for this printer (!!!!) Usually i did printouts of 4x6 and 8x11 with DuraBrite paper with the CX6400 (that uses DuraBrite ink). The CX7800 come with the logo "DuraBrite Ultra", so it uses DuraBrite Ink. The print interface doesn't show DuraBrite option. Is Epson pretending to sell a new family of photo papers with "DuraBrite Ultra" logo? My question is: What is the best photo paper for this model??
Well, i did some borderless printouts with DuraBrite paper with good results, so i'm not alarmed with that... for now.
The ink cartdriges are four. The price of black ink cartdrige (ref.#T0601) is for about $20.00 and the others for about $13.00 each (ref.#T0602, T0603, T0604).
The CX7800 come with a well done design and is a little smaller than the CX6400. The front panel is very intuitive and you pratically don't need the computer to do digital photo prints. Be careful and save your old USB cable or buy a new one. This crucial cable is not included in the package (...once again!).
