The Bottom Line:
At this point I would recommend this to anyone.Their tech. service was very very knowledgeable and helpful.
My current printer was an Epson Stylus 740 which I have had since 1999 and had absolutely no problems except the availability of ink locally. I decided to look at the all-in-ones and compared the top 3. They all looked good but the Epson CX7800 had the feature of scanning film negatives the others didn't. BEWARE - it will only scan and print negatives and slides from a 35 MM camera. I didn't realize this until after I purchased it.
The 4 seperate ink cart. is a good idea but the retailers in this area have negated this advantage by only stocking a package of all for colors together.
It doesn't seem to matter what brand you buy, all ink is expensive.
It is real easy to use and yet has many advanced features that make it close to a professional type unit.
I had a "green tint" problem with the pictures out of the box but a phone call to tech. service cleared this up with no problem.
I also had a problem when using the photo enhancer mode while scanning faded photos but there again a call to tech. service explained this and corrected what I had been experiencing.
All in all I am very satisified.

Since the last write up - I experienced color printing problems. Cleaned the heads 4 times and ran out of ink without any improvement. Contacted the seller and they offered to exchange for a new one which I did. Have printed from all modes and find it to be satisfactory except in the film/photo mode when trying to enhance a fadded photo. This is the same photo I had a problem with on the first CX7800. Has worked on other photos OK so not going to be too concerned about this.
The color printing with the replacement is much improved.
