Gotta getta Garmin... it's a Moose-have!

Pros Simple to use. Additional features are helpful and fun. Cost is decent. We are pleased.
Cons Wish it had more voices - such as Sean Connery's.
Recommended it? Yes

I had no interest.
Zip.
Nada.

But Garmin's catchy Christmas jingle caught my attention -especially the one with the moose. (I like "mooses".) Plus darling hubby was pining for one -- (not a moose, a GPS). And we had a family reunion in Alabama. Traveling from Pennsylvania to ‘Bama... Read full review »

Pros Technology really can make life easier
Cons Dick Cheney knows where you're going
Recommended it? Yes

When I got the Garmin nuvi 200W, it was a revelation. I didn't have a GPS installed in the dash of my car, but my husband did. The GPS in my husband's car doesn't even have a touch screen so you have to scroll through the alphabet with a dial just to type out a street name. Lame. You basically have... Read full review »

Pros Great screen, very user friendly, can change characters, TONS of POIs
Cons Sometimes you need to just use the map instead of the on-screen directions

The Garmin Nuvi 200 series; simple, cost efficient, helpful if you're completely lost...

What can I say, I paid around $250 for this little guy and I got what I paid for, and that's not necessarily a bad thing in this case. Sure it's not the most fancy GPS ever, it doesn't say the street... Read full review »

Pros User friendly interface, accurate directions, durable, reliable, good battery life.
Cons Can be dangerous to use while driving.
Recommended it? Yes

I purchased the Garmin 200W for use while doing my job as a police officer. Prior to this, I had been using a much bulkier Street Pilot ColorMap for the past 8 years before it finally died. I was immediately impressed with the 200W when I took it out of the box.

The Garmin 200W is about... Read full review »

Pros Ease of use, clear display
Cons Old maps

This is the first GPS I've had so I can't compare it to another manufacturer or model. In a nutshell, the Garmin nuvi 200W is a simple to use GPS with a big, clear display. The menus and buttons were intuitive. At no point have I needed to reference the manual. I found the POI (points of interest)... Read full review »

I was always talking about going and getting a GPS System but I could never actually put out the money and pay for one of those fancy digital maps. I was hoping to be able to wait till I gone out of state or something, but I started up a new class which was going on in Minneapolis, MN and if anyone... Read full review »

Pros Easy to use. Nice size.
Cons No Canada maps, Satellite connection slow.

I found this unit very easy to use right out of the box. My son has become quite the handy co-pilot by entering in an address for me without any directions on how to do it. (He likes the feature of changing the arrow to a car or a monster truck) I have tried a couple of units and this works just as... Read full review »

Pros portable, inexpensive, easy to use, saves ink & paper
Cons maps not always accurate

The GPS is a great device to have, especially if you are a frequent traveler. We are a military family, and we travel quite a bit. Our first time using the GPS was on a trip to South Carolina. The GPS was easy to program, and like any electronic device, has it's quirks. One area that this device... Read full review »

We've been hesitant to get a GPS because we don't go out of town frequently and we already know the roads in our neighborhood..then came Christmas and the Garmin nuvi 200w came to us as a gift.
The GPS was easy to setup right out of the box, just put the suction cup to the windshield, plug it in... Read full review »

Pros Many happy journeys with ease just by putting in an address.
Cons Wished I had found this when we started RVing.

Fantastic! We are Rvers and travel all over the country. This device has saved our marriage. I was in charge of getting us from point a to b and I hate reading maps. When you have an RV you can't turn around when you make a mistake in the directions as easily as a car. After many turnarounds we... Read full review »
