bysymbiosis Aug 10, 2005

Pros Fast, accurate, revealing, do not require a headphone amplifier
Cons Expensive, uncomfortable over long periods of time, slightly bright, can be fatiguing.

Introduction

I have long been a fan of headphones. I greatly enjoy listening to music. Sometimes, I need to listen to music. Many times, other people are sleeping or studying when I want to listen to music, so headphones are a must. Like many people, I started off listening to cheap Sony... Read full review »

Pros GREAT value, incredible sound, good portability for such high-quality phones...
Cons Construction is a little shabby, some people may have comfort problems with these...
Recommended it? Yes

First off, I want to say that I'm not somebody who just bought these things and am scrambling to write a review about them; I've had these beauties for a while, and I'm finally buckling down to write about them. In fact, I have a pair of RS-1s on order, and will most likely write a review on them... Read full review »

Doctor come here quick, I think these things are alive!!!!

Pros Good sound , good value
Cons need an adapter to use them portably:>(
Recommended it? Yes

The Grado 125 is the first in the Grado line that approaches true audiophile sound. It has better detail than the SR-60 or SR-80. The highs are much more realistic - not the sparkly highs of the lower cost units. Midrange is a bit recessed but dynamic and the bass is clean and tight.
The 125... Read full review »

Great cans, but not for everyone...

Pros Great sound for the price.
Cons Not for long sessions. Cord only 6'.
Recommended it? Yes

Bought those recently as a final upgrade to my audio setup. They replace a pair of horrible Sony wireless (MDR RF 960R). I'll never buy wireless cans again : some things are meant to stay attached.
First, as the title suggests they are not for everyone. If you are fashion conscious (what a... Read full review »

Pros Excellent sound
Cons Nothing! :)
Recommended it? Yes

There are no adjectives that can accurately describe the sound that this headphone produces. The sound is rich, balanced, and soft-- you feel like you can listen to it for hours without your ears getting tired.

The detail is outstanding. You can turn the volume barely halfway and you can... Read full review »

A New Dimension

bymad-scientist Jul 25, 2000
8 Helpfuls 9 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Crystal clear, colorful sound reproduction. Work well with portable devices.
Cons Not good for noisy places. Slightly flat base.
Recommended it? Yes

I recently purchased the Grado-SR 125's and I have been grinning from ear to ear ever since. These are the "middle-of-the-road" headphones from Grado Labs, but the SR 125's are light years ahead of the high-end headphones you might find at a large electronics chain store. If you are used to... Read full review »

detail freaks, a bit too bright

byflorinandrei Jan 17, 2004

Pros Mind-blowing amount of detail revealed
Cons Exagerated high frequencies
Recommended it? Yes

These were my first quality phones. The amount of detail revealed is flabbergasting. Normal studio monitors and proffesional headphones are like really clean crystals to look through, while the Grado phones are like quantum-effect microscopes, revealing tons and tons of details.
Unfortunately,... Read full review »

At the time of this review, I'd been using my Grado SR-125 cans for just over a year, and just switched to a pair of Sennheiser HD-600s. The difference is like night and day; both in comfort and sound.

The Grado SR-125s exaggerate high-frequency sounds in a way that is quite to my... Read full review »

The opinions i read on the net where very helpful for me in choosing a pair of headphones, so this is payback time.
