It all began with the ?Upgrade? If you read me on a regular basis then you?ll know my story. If not there will be a link at the end of this to the Epinion that I have written on my whole Upgrading ordeal. I used to have a lowly Pentium 166 MHZ computer. Which was ok I suppose, I mean it wasn?t all... Read full review »

You probably have heard sometimes in news that CPU manufacturers, namely Intel, are the target of illegal practices.. counterfeit of CPU's.

About binning and speeds
When chips are produced, they are tested for a certain... Read full review »

Well I finally upgraded from my old skool Pentuim 233. I built my own system this time. It's really alot better to do so if can. When you go out and just buy a pre-made system your gettin riped-off. They put the cheapest hardware in those machines. My computer was a NEC Ready 9750. It was a great... Read full review »

Pros Inexpensive and Fast
Cons It's 2nd To AMD in Speed
Recommended it? Yes

The PIII has been hounded lately about being in second place next to AMD Athlon processors and yes maybe it does run faster, but I own a PIII 450 and it?s a very reliable and stable processor. I built my computer myself and I felt that the PIII was a better choice over the Athlon. Well the... Read full review »

Pros Compatibility - Speed - & Speed!
Cons price (CPUs are NOT Cheap!)
Recommended it? Yes

Recently I gave into the ?pressure? and purchased a new Intel Pentium III processor. For over a year my main system was running on a P2-350, and truthfully I thought that the speed was incredibly fast and that I did not need an upgrade. However, when I built a second computer last week I decided to... Read full review »

Cons Requires knowledge. Potential exist to ruin hardware if acting irresponsibly

In the age of rapid obsolescence of computer gear, it is expensive to have a computer that is state of the art. The Leading Edge quickly become the Bleeding Edge because not only is the price differential between a top of the line processor, and the next slowest version out of proportion to the... Here it is, Intel's, the king of the processor companies, completely towering over such chip makers as Cyrix and AMD for as long as I can remember now, new baby. When I bought my new computer, I had the option of getting an Athlon or P3, I picked the P3 up in the end needless to say, and heres why... Read full review »

Pros Fast, no needs for expensive board
Cons Too damn expensive,

The Intel PIII is one of the two most powerful processors on the market along with the AMD Athlon. The real problem I have with the Intel offering is there price. I don't believe that the PIII is better than the Athlon, I believe its close but no where near as the price difference suggests.

byTurin Dec 10, 1999

Pros It's really a 600mhz P3, cheap
Cons Still not as good as Athlon
Recommended it? Yes

What's the big deal about the PIII 450? It's not really 450mhz. Let me explain. Intel still wants to compete with the lower end market. While the celerons are still running as Intel's most basic machines, even though they out perform their p2 brothers who are still more expensive. Intel decided to... Read full review »
