Pros Gorgeous graphics, some interesting characters, heavy customization possible.
Cons Combat, much too easy, flat ending.

Legend of Mana had two strikes against it before I even opened up the package. The first is that it was made by Squaresoft, the company responsible for the Final Fantasy series. Pros Non-linear style allows for greater flexibility, many sub-features.
Cons Too many quests/features, only 2 players, golems hard to make, few SoM links.

The Secret of Mana is regarded as one of the best RPGs on the SNES. Square did Americans wrong by not localizing Seiken Densetsu 2, the sequel to The Secret of Mana. Pros No need to do all quests. Great incentive to beat the game.
Cons 2 players, not 3. Golems hard to make. Game has few true SoM links.
Recommended it? No

The first game by Squaresoft I ever played was Secret of Mana, for the Super Nintendo. It was also the first RPG I ever played.
