The Bottom Line:
High quality sound at a reasonable price.
I love music-really who doesn't. I purchased the Logitech X-230 speakers after reading some pretty good reviews. I needed a set that combined a great price with great sound. I have used these speakers on both my retired desktop and my new desktop replacement notebook. I am by no means an audiophile but I am impressed by the way my music sounds. That is truly my bottom line.
Set up is a breeze. Two satellite speakers and a subwoofer which sits under my desk. My desk has holes in which I can thread wires through to thwart a mess of wires. I had to unscrew the serial looking cord at the back of the subwoofer and run it through. I plugged in the audio jack into my headphone port. Turn on and go. Now I am not a huge fan of the wires which can be a bit of a pain and can get jumbled up.
The subwoofer really booms and has slight distortion if turned up but I like my music at a semi-reasonable level. You can really feel the bass and the music. I really appreciate the crisp sound. Adjustments can be made on the rear of the subwoofer and volume control on the satellite speaker. There is also a headphone jack if the need arises.
I purchased these online at Dell for around 50CDN with free shipping, approximately 6 months ago and I am still loving them. Far superior to any other computer speakers that I have owned.
Overall, I think that these speakers are amazing for the price and sound quality.
