Another Newfangled Thing I Can't Live Without

byunderdawg Sep 3, 2004
10 Helpfuls 11 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Battery life, ergonomix, wheel, plug n play, wireless!
Cons Transmitter a bit bulky, pricey
Recommended it? Yes

I really didn't mean to spend all this money on a mouse. I really didn't. I was just playing a lot of Hitman 2, and I was really frustrated on one level. I blamed on my cheap Dell mouse. Y'know, the old school ones that have balls in them. So I decided that an optical mouse would be the way to... Read full review »

Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse is liberating

byjjanigo Jan 17, 2004
10 Helpfuls 11 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros No cords to tether you, excellent ergonomic feel
Cons A few minor quirky things (see below)
Recommended it? Yes

I bought a mouse as a "birthday present" for myself back in early November 2003, and have since resisted all temptation to start calling it "my precious" (my apologies for the Tolkien reference).

I have long been a user of Microsoft-made mice and this one, my first wireless, is clearly a... Read full review »

Not good for laptop use

byt_o_n_y Nov 10, 2004
9 Helpfuls 10 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros It's wireless and it's optical. Might be fine for a desktop computer.
Cons Would not stay installed and working on my Sony Vaio Laptop. Clunky receiver.
Recommended it? No

The first type of mouse I purchased for my laptop was a "Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse". It was wonderful at first, but the problems began after about a month.

There are so many similar names for this type of mouse that it's hard to keep them straight. But the one I purchased (from... Read full review »

Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse

byboote67 Aug 10, 2003
9 Helpfuls 10 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros feels natural
Cons short battery life
Recommended it? Yes

Although this may sound weird, I love this mouse. It is higher than most mice and it takes a little getting used to it before it feels natural. It has the standard right and left click buttons on top with a scroll wheel in the center but it also has two more buttons convenietly located near the... Read full review »

Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer

byDKTaber Jan 21, 2005
6 Helpfuls 7 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Reliability, sensitivity, "feel"
Cons Right button click pressure too little. Subject to electronic interference.
Recommended it? Yes

Like at least one other reviewer, I got this particular mouse by happenstance. I had just bought a new computer, and wanted to get rid of the "wire tether", which has always been a pain in the a**. I didn't intend to get a MS product because they're generally at the low end of the quality scale... Read full review »

Sticky Performance

byClearseas Jan 4, 2005
6 Helpfuls 7 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros No cable, pretty to look at
Cons Poor ergonomic design, poor control and sticky performance
Recommended it? No

I purchased this mouse to replace a wired optical mouse that had failed after 3 years of use. My only reason to purchase the wireless M.S. mouse was that it was on sale. From it's original list of $80.00 CDN to $20.00 CDN. Worth a try at that price.

My first concern was that it was a... Read full review »

MS Hits Another Mouse Home Run

bymoximal Jul 5, 2005
5 Helpfuls 6 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Comfortable, back/forward buttons, works great on a desk top, couch cushion, bed or mouse...
Cons When batteries are low performance is erratic at best, slightly clunky receiver.
Recommended it? Yes

I have been using the MS IntelliMouse mice since the first one came out in late 99. In fact, I still have that mouse, and am using it on the computer I'm writing this review on. That's right, over 5 years and the mouse still works as though it were new. With that in mind, I knew exactly the mouse I... Read full review »

Excellent product but not as reliable as wired version

4 Helpfuls 5 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Excellent feel and choice of options. Tracking not perfect, but acceptable.
Cons Under certain conditions, could cause loss of entered data. Poor battery life.
Recommended it? No

I recently acquired the MS Wireless Intellimouse Explorer, Version 2.0 and was extremely satisfied with its operation for the first eight days of it being in service on a Windows machine used between 2-4 hours per day on a daily basis.

After a little over one week, the mouse software... Read full review »

Better than the Logitech

bybevross Dec 14, 2003
4 Helpfuls 5 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Good battery life & ergonomics
Cons Too bad these things didn't have more functions.
Recommended it? Yes

We've got both the Logitech & this Microsoft mouse. Other reviewers who fault the battery life on this mouse should try the Logitech! In comparison, this one is much better! I recharge the Logitech batteries two times for every one time with the Microsoft. I also like the ergonomics better, though... Read full review »

Wireless Intellimouse Explorer

byrazorbackca Jul 7, 2003
4 Helpfuls 5 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Feels natural, easy to use.
Cons Occasional annoyances, short battery life.
Recommended it? Yes

The Wireless Intellimouse Explorer is a great mouse to use for almost anyone. Users of typical Microsoft mice will take a bit of getting used to the size of the mouse. It's considerably higher than typical mice, but has a great feel for your hands.

Typical two buttons and wheel function... Read full review »
