The Bottom Line:
If you can find it for around $200 I would recommend this product. I bought mine refurbished and haven't had any problems.
My first encounter with the monitor was on a comparison shopping site, and it was ranked #1 for all monitors, but it cost $500: a lot for a 20".
Later, I saw it on deals2buy for $217 and immediately bought it, and I'm glad I did.
It has a resolution of 1680x1050 and supports every input except HDMI, but that doesn't matter to me because HDMI to DVI adapters are inexpensive. I recently watched a movie using the component video input from a DVD player. It looked great! But one problem I had was that it didn't upscale the picture to fill the screen, so I had to fiddle with the controls and use the "zoom" feature. It looked great before zooming in and it was annoying to have to go through the menus to zoom, but it was worth it when the picture filled the screen. I think the monitor should have made the picture fill the screen by default.
I haven't tried connecting it to an antenna or using the Picture-In-Picture mode yet. One review I read said that the TV tuner did not properly scale the TV picture to fit the monitor .
I've connected DVI and VGA inputs to the monitor. It is easy to switch between the two using the remote. The DVI looks good all the time, but sometimes in VGA mode I noticed some fuzziness.
I've watched a couple of HD movies on the monitor, and I was very pleased. One complaint I had at first was that, having not read the manual, I didn't know to look for and hence couldn't find the volume nob, so I couldn't get enough sound out of it until I found the nob. It is kind of confusing because I used the remote to adjust the volume, and it said that the volume was at 100%: I've never seen a piece of electronics that I can remember with both digital and analog volume controls built into the same device.
This is a great monitor for the money. It has a fast response time, clear picture, is bright, and has a fairly high contrast ratio.
Has helpful presets for games, movies and text.
