SONY MDR 7506 PROFESSIONAL HEADPHONES
SONY MDR 7506 PROFESSIONAL HEADPHONES
There are literally thousands of different headphones on the market today. Each has its own strengths and weakness, depending on the specific use and job that the headphones in question are being called upon to perform. Today I am...

Good enough for the pros, good enough for me
After doing much research on headphones, even purchasing similar brands, I headed out to my local Sam Ash Music store and purchased these headphones to enjoy my music from my Ipod, computer, and Home Theatre System while at home reclined back relaxing.
The unfortunate thing about going...

Not the Weakest Link!
As we all know, audio quality is only as good as your weakest component. Whether it's my newest CD, my Tablet PC, or my Roland Keyboard, it matters that I have headphones that will present the sound in the cleanest and richest possible tones. Unfortunately, I don't have hundreds of dollars to spend... Read full review »
All you'll ever need in a studio headphone
If you spend any amount of time in a studio like I do you'll know how very important it is to have quality headphones at your disposal. Not all studio speaker are the same and if you always want to hear your recordings on a level playing field studio headphones are very very important. Sony doesn't... Read full review »
The Best in Any Price Range
This review was updated on 12/9/06 to reflect my long-term experience with the product as well as my improved grammar and spelling skills.
I compared many headphones while I was making my decision by listening to them side-by-side, and some were priced well into the $400 range; meanwhile,...

Very good balance between sound quality, weight, price and comfort
For many years I have owned Stax electrostatic (SR-5) and Koss (Pro4AAA) dynamic headphones and extensively tried AKG, and Bang & Olufsen as well.
I have tried around-the-ear (Stax, Koss, Sennheiser), on the ear (AKG), electrostatic or dynamic, all over $100 list price. These Sonys rest...

great headphones, good price too
I got these in Stockholm at a rip-off price, (around 160 euro/dollars), but i needed them rapidly for the flight home.
And I'm not at all regretting the purchase. I bought them, let them play a looped MD for 2 days, and then left Sweden, the 6 hour journey from Norrkoping to Dublin was...

My second pair in 20 years
I had a pair of these that I bought new in the late '80s and they were incredible even back then. And back then it seems like I paid something like $150 for them, which would be well over $200 today. They were workhorses and the comfort and fidelity was beyond anything else out there. Some 20 years... Read full review »
Great Sound, Value.
Before I purchased these headphones, I had only owned the generic 20-30 dollar headphones - a pair of earbuds for travel and a pair of streetstyle phones for comfort.
I decided it was time to invest in a decent pair of headphones, and I began looking around, reading reviews and online...

Could not wear for longer than 1 hour without pain on ears.
Well, I was used to a pair of Sennheiser 280 Pro headphones. They started to break down a bit, cracking on the plastic areas but the sound and comfort was great. I thought that by all the great reviews these would be a great replacement and boy was I wrong.
They did not sit over my ears...

Sony MDR-7506 Professional Studio Headphones
Sony's Pro Audio department has a real winner on its ears with the MDR7506 large-diaphragm foldable headphones. These "phones have everything a musician needs for the studio or on the road. We probably don't even need to mention the excellent Sony sound quality, but it's there, with smooth frequency response from 10Hz to 20kHz. Closed-ear design gives you great comfort for long sessions, exclusion of external noise, and no leakage for when you're recording. But that's just the stuff you'd expect the MDR7506s are also supremely rugged and collapsable, making them the most road-worthy of headphones for DJs, drummers playing to click tracks, engineers, and others. A soft carrying case comes supplied. Stereo Unimatch Plug with 1/4 in. and 1/8 in. applications. Gold Connectors and OFC Cord for reliable and stable signal connection and transmission.
