TomTom NAVIGATOR 5: Lost or found?
Can a European* navigation system help you find your way in the United States? That question got a straight YES when TomTom entered the market and while not perfect, it sure gained the respect of mostly PDA users in both camps PalmOS and PocketPC. In its latest incarnation, Navigator still supports... Read full review »
GET LOST. . .or DON'T !
WHAT IS IT & WHY DID I BUY IT?
In my work, I need to drive quite a bit around the NY/NJ/CT tristate area. So far I had been using Google and MapQuest for getting driving directions and location specific information. I had seen many GPS navigation solutions, however did not buy them...

I Love This Product... sort of.
I use TomTom with a Dell Axim x51v which is not listed as being compatible but with which I have had no issues.
The included documentation is pretty lame but once I got on the TomTom website I had no problems and had the thing working within 30 min.
The sattelite acquisition is...

Great Car Navigation Solution
This is a review of the TomTom Navigator 5 software only since I am using it with a GlobalSat BT-338 BlueTooth GPS receiver rather than the TomTom receiver. This combination is sold as a bundle by Semsons & Company. I had originally ordered the TomTom GPS receiver and software from another vendor,... Read full review »
Inexpensive GPS solution, but not without limitations
I purchased the TomTom 5 Navigator as an add-on accessory to the Palm TX that I already had. The cost of this package was much less than buying a dedicated automobile GPS solution and seemed to have all of the same features. While the software seems to be one of the better ones out there, it is not... Read full review »
Solid performer with a few glitches
This review is for the software only. I am using the software with a generic Bluetooth GPS reciever I purchased from Computer Geeks.
I must say I was very please to see the box come from Tomtom.com. I had purcased the for mentioned GPS reciever to use with my iPaq 2215 and needed software...

Works well, but with SEVERELY OUTDATED maps
I have PalmOne GPS suite which comes with Navigator 5 from TomTom. Setup was nice, everything works fine... except it does not show either my home or work addresses. And I noticed while driving from home to work, that a recently built (few years old) major toll-highway in Denver area (470) does NOT... Read full review »
Avoid TomTom Because of Map Activation
The TomTom Navigator is a nice enough device, until you get to the Maps activation. The Maps activation? Why should I have to activate my maps if I have paid for the product? Good question, well, I activated these maps on one PDA, and within 2 weeks my PDA died and I had to obtain warranty service... Read full review »
Great, if it has the correct address for your destination
I recently went on a little vacation to Lake Geneva, WI. Several restaurants in the area were programmed in, yet when I attempted to navigate to them it brought me to the opposite side of town. Also, in Glenwood, IL It brought me to the middle of a subdivision when attempting to find a golf course... Read full review »
Nice GUI, but BAD support
I have been using Navigator 5 for the past year on an HP IPAQ 6515 w/built-in GPS, and a Palm with bluetooth GPS. The interface is clean and fairly easy to navigate. Basic functions (select destination and get directions there) work well. None of the more sophisticated controls available on Garmin... Read full review »
