Super Smash Brothers Brawl: The game where Mario can take a bat to Sonic's cranium.
With some games, it takes an investment in order to appreciate what a game is all about. I originally was going to pass on Super Smash Brothers Brawl because I didn't put that original investment into Super Smash Brothers Melee. While these two games aren't hard to simply pick up and play, I knew... Read full review »
Super Smash Bros. Brawl: - Bash Your Way Through Nintendo's Best
Super Smash Bros. began as a popular game on the Nintendo 64. This title threw Nintendo's own characters into a casual yet frantic fighting game and certainly has it's fair share of fans. OK, now THIS is what you bought a Wii for
Trying to come up with a good way to begin my review, my head is a jumble of ideas, features, and concepts that swirl around each other in a chaotic mess. But, somehow, that's the perfect introduction to this game: Super Smash Brothers Brawl is chaos, and that's a very good thing.
When I...

As they square off in locales drawn from the history of Nintendo anything can happen. Smash Bros. features limitless customizing options, items and weapons and a wealth of modes. Included is a sprawling adventure mode called The Subspace Emissary that s a full game in and of itself. Players jump and brawl their way through enemy-packed side-scrolling levels, meeting up with other characters and watching cinematic cut-scenes. Brawl with your friends across the country using WiiConnect24. Going online allows up to four players to brawl, no matter where they are. Engage the rage with Super Smash Bros. Brawl! The third installment of the incredibly successful Super Smash Bros. series is now on the Wii, The roster islonger than ever, but that just means more butt to kick across over a dozen different, graphic-rich stages with original moves, new modified moves, and a brand-new super attack called Final Smash! Old favorites like Mario, Link, Peach and Kirby are now joined by such exciting newcomers as Wario, Solid Snake and Sonic the Hedgehog. With a variety of new modes, an absolutely epic soundtrack and the ability to play with distant friends through online multiplayer, this is a game you ll have to break your own fingers to put down. What is Super Smash Bros? It s a brawling, battling, action-packed video game that features a varied roster of characters for four-player simultaneous melees! When you hit an opponent, his or her damage meter builds up. The more damage that builds up, the farther an opponent flies each time he or she gets hit! An opponent with higher damage flies farther. Soon, people are flying around like rockets. And when you fly off the screen in any direction. You lose a life! Also, in some modes, each time you KO an opponent, you earn points. As an example, you can fight for a mere two minutes in a competition to see who can shoot their opponents off-screen the most. If you had to call it something, I d say it s almost like a sport.

Nintendo WII Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Duke it out with your favorite Nintendo characters in Super Smash Bros. for the Wii. Solid Snake from the Metal Gear Series makes a special appearance in this title for the Wii game system. The new Smash Bros. will include a number of new playable characters such as Meta Knight from the Kirby games, Pit from Kid Icarus, Zero Suit Samus (i.e. Samus without her armour) from Metroid: Zero Mission, Wario and, most unexpectedly, Solid Snake from Metal Gear and Sonic the Hedgehog, Sega's loveable blue blur! The Nintendogs also make an appearance, although only as an item for obscuring the screen, and each character now seems to have some gigantic new special attacks that take up the whole screen. Not only will the game have an online mode but it is the only major Nintendo title to use the "shell" controller by default rather than the Wii remote. In multiplayer games, characters from all Nintendo universes meet up in Nintendo locales to duke it out. In the solo mode called "The Subspace Emissary," the world of Smash Bros. is invaded by an entity called the Ancient Minister and his army of creatures, called "The Primid." Normally, characters come alive in the world of Smash Bros. to do battle, then turn back into trophies when defeated. However, the Ancient Minister starts turning characters into trophies to harness their power, then detonates bombs that suck pieces of the world back into his realm of Subspace. Eventually, all the characters must work together to defeat the invading creatures from Subspace - this is accomplished by playing through side-scrolling levels. For multiplayer games, players pick characters, set rules and locations for where they want to play and then duke it out. In Solo Mode, characters play through a long, side-scrolling adventure, beating up enemies along the way as they watch short cinematics starring their favorite characters.
