Fast RAID5 SATA Card

Pros Reliable, very fast read speed in RAID5.
Cons Rebuild can take a while, but at least I don't loose any data!
Recommended it? Yes

I've used several of these cards in video editing workstations and they are great. I've never had a problem with them. I'll use four, 400GB SATA drives in a RAID5 configuration which gives me protection against a drive failure with fast write and very fast read speed. They have nice... Read full review »

Pros Mirror or RAID your hard drives and never lose data to a disk crash again.
Cons Hard to compare against the cheapo write-twice fake-RAID cards until you actually see it...

This card is a horse. It's never failed me, the diagnostics are fantastic, it's screaming fast. I never worry about losing data, it's just not going to happen. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money, it's worth it. After you get used to these, you'll wonder why your IT department wants so... Read full review »

I always prefered 3Ware to LSI Logic, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do now that LSI has purchased 3Ware.  They may have had similar performance, but the 3Ware web interface, command line and BIOS interface are much better and this makes a huge difference when there is a disk failure. ...
