Pros Cool, Quiet, High performance, and hold stocks for 64 bit future
Cons Nothing (comparatively with any other CPUs for this price)
Recommended it? Yes

I have use this subject in my barebone from Shuttle. Little case, so cool (I mean not hot) CPU is needed for operation quietly. I satisfied with Athlon 64 completely, it is strong enough and my funs remains surprisingly quiet. And it is work faster than even more expensive models from Pentium 4... Read full review »

Unable to enjoy the AMD 64 bit chip

byctwilson Oct 30, 2005
2 Helpfuls 3 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros AMD literature says it will work real fast
Cons No hardware compatibility.
Recommended it? No

I purchased this chip over a year ago with an ASUS A8V-E-Deluxe motherboard. To date, with the exception of an ATI video card, I've been unable to find any hardware drivers for even the most simple name-brand peripherals. For example, my HP 5590 scanner and HP LaserWriter are less that a year old... Read full review »

Pros Perfection. Speed, speed, speed, potential, price.
Cons 5 stars aren't enough.
Recommended it? Yes

Intel was dieing with the NetBurst Microarchitecture where AMD was starting to steal Intel's thunder with its Athlon 64 processors. Every so often when Intel and AMD would put out a newer and faster processor it would top its rival by a small margin. Well out of nowhere comes the beast that is the... Read full review »

Intel finally retakes AMD

byandrewzorn May 18, 2007
11 Helpfuls 12 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Speed, price, low power/heat.
Cons Rumored to be a short-lived platform, it will eventually be beaten.
Recommended it? Yes

NOTE: Due to the nature of high-end computer parts, the information found in this review (especially in regards to performance) will likely be dated within a matter of months.

I was a long-time AMD fan until this CPU finally came out (after much speculation and rumor). I had an... Read full review »
