Acclaimed action director John Woo presents Stranglehold, a stunning 3rd-person action adventure videogame for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. A spiritual sequel to Woos action masterpiece, Hard Boiled, Stranglehold redefines the action gaming experience with its acrobatic gunplay, thrilling cinematography, frenetic combat and incredible Massive Destructibility (Massive D). Chow Yun-Fat reprises his signature role as Inspector Tequila, pitting gamers as a take no-prisoners cop waging a personal war with Hong Kong crime lords. Tequilas loyalties to the force are tested when his ex-wife is kidnapped by the Russian mob in Chicago. Tequila struggles to balance his duty to uphold the law with doing what it takes to save his family. Stranglehold allows gamers to play a John Woodirected action blockbuster movie. dual-wielding,stunt-laden gunplay combined with massive destructible environments ensures that Stranglehold will be a true tour-de-force. Stranglehold - Max Payne Meets Hard Boiled

Pros Max Payne + John Woo = awesome
Cons occasionally looks cheap, some framerate issues, only 6 hours long
Recommended it? Yes

John Woo Presents Stranglehold goes into the interesting genre of video-game movies that aren't straight adaptations and is actually a nifty piece of work. Even though it only took me a paltry six hours to run through the game and it offers little replay value- it's an entertaining game and worth... Read full review »

Pros Entertaining, jaw-dropping explosions.
Cons Short single player experience, multiplayer is a bust.
Recommended it? Yes

Now I'm not going to sit here and tell you that John Woo is a brilliant filmmaker. I think arguments can be made that he knows how to put together an entertaining action flick albeit it may be missing some serious IQ. Stranglehold came onto the scene recently for the Xbox 360 and immediately caught... Read full review »

Guitar Hero World Tour: Mediocrity at its Best

bynoangels Mar 23, 2009
27 Helpfuls 28 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Some good songs, instruments are a lot of fun to play, downloadable content
Cons Playlist is horrible, new format lacks cohesion, expensive
Recommended it? No

Since getting hooked on Guitar Hero III, my husband and I have been buying every Guitar Hero title we can find! We’ve picked up used copies of the older games in Game Stop. We’ve grabbed newer titles on both our consoles and our handheld gaming systems. We hesitated to expand to Rock Band due to... Read full review »

Pros Newly added drums and vocals, indepth rock star creator, download songs by other players
Cons Considerably easier than previous titles, music studio with a poor interface
Recommended it? No

I had played Guitar Hero 1-3 as well as it's competitor, Rock Band many times.  Though I enjoyed Rock Band for it's drums, I was much fonder of Guitar Hero's guitar.  Needless to say, when I heard Guitar Hero was coming out with a full band game, I was quite intrigued and made sure I had a good two...
