John Woo Presents Stranglehold goes into the interesting genre of video-game movies that aren't straight adaptations and is actually a nifty piece of work. Pros Entertaining, jaw-dropping explosions.
Cons Short single player experience, multiplayer is a bust.

Now I'm not going to sit here and tell you that John Woo is a brilliant filmmaker. I think arguments can be made that he knows how to put together an entertaining action flick albeit it may be missing some serious IQ. Pros Looks great, and is exhilarating in its own unique sort of way.
Cons The new take on dogfighting feels gimmicky rather than innovative.  Helicopter modes...

I don't ask for much from this sort of game.  I want a decent selection of fast planes, solid controls, and plenty of targets.  This was basically what the previous game in the Ace Combat series served up, and with only minor reservations, I loved it.  I still play it all the... Read full review »
