Pros Loud, clear and portable iPod boombox that blows away even more expensive competition.
Cons Unit becomes unwieldy and heavy when used with batteries. No LED indicator when adjusting...

The Altec Lansing iM7 is $100 less than the popular (and overpriced) Bose docking station. While Bose has the reputation, it's impossible to find it discounted below the $299 list price. I paid $190 for the iM7 from buy.com, and it can be found at Costco for even less now ($180 last I checked)... Read full review »

i have never used it for traveling (it think it is meant for travel, because it folds into this small, compact thing complete with a travel bag).  instead i have used it as my stereo where i dock and charge my ipod and listen to music.  i think the sound gets loud enough for a large bedroom.  Read full review »
