Pros Great range, reliability, and speed.
Cons May lack some advanced features uber-geeks want.

Thus far, after about two weeks of use, this is the best wireless access point I've ever owned (I've tried 3 others over the years).

Wireless "N" is the newest generation of latest-and-greatest wifi, offering greater speeds and twice the range of the previous generation, wireless "G." I... Read full review »

The Home Server Breakthrough Hidden Behind iPhone

byPirich Feb 20, 2007

Pros Compact, rational shape, nice footprint, supports printers, supports shared hard disks,...
Cons Software can be complicated to untangle if you have previous airport networks running.
Recommended it? Yes

Yes, the big news the day this product came out was the iPhone. iPhone, which is yet to be seen, and is not what these people have done for a living for the past 30 years. Pros A totally well thought out multi-purpose, super-fast router. Bargain price.
Cons Only one Ethernet port.
Recommended it? Yes

The new Airport Express with 802.11n (draft 2 spec) capability is the second generation of this product. Apple kept everything that was great about the original Express and then gave it some serious attitude and speed while simplifying what was already a very simple, easy to use interface.

The 3rd wireless router I've bought, 1st I've kept

byjstrnad May 7, 2009
12 Helpfuls 13 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Ease of use, speed, once connected
Cons May not be as effortless to connect as advertised, even with a Mac.
Recommended it? Yes

I bought the AirPort Express for my Mac Mini after having failed to set up two other name-brand routers in the past. In those two cases, I was able to connect the Mac Mini but not my (old) Windows XP machine even after hours of struggle and phone calls to tech support. I took both of those routers...
