The defeat of the Covenant in the first Halo game was only a temporary victory, as the alien attackers have renewed their mission to wipe out all of humanity. Despite the human military force's and Master Chief's efforts, the Covenant have breeched the Earth's defenses and have left its inhabitants in a dismal situation. In the midst of desperation, players assume the role of Master Chief and lead the resistance against the Covenant to save the people of Earth from a gruesome demise. The long-awaited PC version of Bungie's FPS, Halo 2 offers the full single-player campaign and multiplayer maps of the original Xbox version, with the addition of the content in the Multiplayer Map Pack as well as a tool for building and customizing levels. The game requires Windows Vista. Less

In Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone, the player directs a party of three characters - a Fighter, a Sorcerer and a Rogue. The player controls one party member at a time - switching between them on the fly - while the other party members are controlled by the engine's sophisticated artificial intelligence. For example, when the player controls the Fighter, the Sorcerer and Rogue will continue to engage in combat, cast spells and assist the player in defeating all challengers. In many situations, the characters will be able to divide and conquer difficult objectives - while the Fighter holds back a horde of Yuan-Ti snakemen with brute force, the Sorcerer supports him with devastating ranged magic, while the Rogue sneaks above and behind them for a coup de grace. The player participates seamlessly in each critical moment as the characters are cinematically switched from one perspective to another.Demon Stone utilises an extensive fighting system which is both easy to learn and visually stunning. Halo 2: Like old coffee ... simply stale

Pros Finally available for PC, new map editor
Cons Low quality graphics, plain dumb AI, repetitive gameplay, price, Vista only
Recommended it? No

Microsoft has been controversial, yet successful, in the release of two extremely hyped products: Windows Vista and the Halo franchise (created by Bungie). With the PC version of Halo 2 they're joined at the hip and despite the clear marketing purpose (rather than technology), it still turned out... Read full review »

This is a really fun game; you should definitely play it on insane!  One of the most difficult games I have ever played when set to that level and it made me really work at many of the levels and areas.  Get this game for sure! Read full review »

A darker, epic-level quest...with a few issues.

bybloolight Dec 24, 2008

Pros Engaging story, epic-level powers are a blast.
Cons Overly grim, tedious spirit-eating curse, technical glitches.
Recommended it? Yes

Neverwinter Nights 2 was a long-awaited sequel to a wonderful franchise, but it brought along a nearly crippling number of bugs in its original release.  A long series of patches managed to make the game playable and, if you have the right system, downright enjoyable.  Mask of the Betrayer... An intensive and intriguing game. You need to complete quests and solve puzzles to advance to the next level. There are new arenas to explore. It has tons of characters and good storyline. However, the camera position is a bit shaky. But overall is a good and engaging game. Read full review »
