Pros Clean, crisp prose; VERY accessible
Cons Can get dry, but only because of the subject matter
Recommended it? Yes

The gist:

* Text book posing as non-fiction

* Lightens up what should be a dry subject

* Clean, crisp prose makes for a good read

This book was written just for me.

OK, maybe that's not entirely true -- I have never met Charles Petzold and, beyond his... Read full review »

Pros plain english explanation of how codes and computers work

Recommended it? Yes

This review is part of a write-in for Censored and Banned Books. It is a topic I have wrestled with in other reviews and in other aspects of my life. I totally support free written expression and a world without authors like John Steinbeck would be a different world indeed. John Steinbeck... Read full review »
