This entertaining look at the story of the from-the-get-go rivalry of Apple founder Steve Jobs (Noah Wyle) and Microsoft pioneer Bill Gates (Anthony Michael Hall) provides equal parts laughs and insight, set to an energized soundtrack. Told from the points of view of Jobs's and Gates's collaborators--Steve Woziak and Paul Ballmer, respectively--the film intelligently charts each camp's bumpy ride from garage experimentation to industry domination. This 1969 Western encapsulates the genre, with dramatic chase scenes on horseback through breathtaking landscapes, daring robberies of banks and trains, true comradery between cowboys who would risk their lives for one another, and copious amounts of renegade charm. Butch Cassidy (Paul Newman) is the smart, savvy leader of The Hole in the Wall Gang, and his sidekick the Sundance Kid (Robert Redford) ranks among the best shooters the West has known. This combination of brains and menace allows the duo to roam unchallenged, staging petty robberies when needed and otherwise kicking back at the local brothel. But when a six-pack of the best cowboys in nearby states gather to bring down the rebels, using a Native American tracker to follow them across rivers, over mountains, and through deserts; Butch and Sundance decide to flee. Gathering Sundance's girlfriend (Katherine Ross), they make their way to Bolivia via New York City. Unfortunately, old habits die hard, and before they know it, the charismatic crimi... Less

I have to say that I was really excited to be invited to DavidK93's write-off in celebration of his second anniversary at Epinions. I guess it was because I immediately knew what I wanted to review. Having to pick a movie from a former brat packer, it was no choice for me to go with Anthony Michael... Read full review »

Steve Jobs and Bill Gates are two of the Information Age's archetypical players, so it's only right that they be portrayed in the medium most suited to the Age: audio-visual. Because,... Read full review »

How did those characters get into my wedding. They didn't crash it. They were invited. More in a bit.

The year 1969 was an amazing year for me. I was in my late teens and a sports and movie fan. The NY METS won their first World Series. That was also the year JETS quarterback "Broadway"... Read full review »
