I would not recommend an IBM Desktar disk to anybody (they are also badged Hitachi). I have had 2. The first, around 80GB, was supplied by Dell in my new top-of-the-line Dimension 8100 and died inside 21 months, having given me all kinds of trouble. Now the second, a 120GB drive, is dying fast,... If you find yourself in need of a replacement hard drive for your computer or if you happen to be putting together a new computer yourself, look no further than the Hitachi Deskstar hard drive. The specific model of drive I bought was the HDS728080PLAT20 and it is an 80 GB ATA drive.
