WoW takes place just four years after the real-time strategy Warcraft series, which chronicles a 25 year struggle between the Alliance (humans, dwarves, gnomes, and elves) and the Horde (orcs, tauren, trolls, and undead). Even though there's tons of accumulated story to the series, new players should not be daunted. The background is there for you to explore, but you don't have to tread a lot of Azeroth history to get into the action. Less

The Wonderful World of Warcraft

bykrial Feb 28, 2006

Pros Wonderful graphics, story, constant updates and new features, just plain fun to play.
Cons Mediocre class balance, a few bugs remain after a year of retail... addictive!
Recommended it? Yes

I always had a hard time justifying the need to pay fifteen or twenty dollars every month to play a game online. It seemed more logical to me to just purchase a brand new game every month or two, that way I would have a lot more games for the same amount of money I would be spending on one online... Pros Great graphics for the genre. Huge world. Huge Variety. Highly addictive. Did I mention...
Cons A little too addictive. Occasionably obtrusive players. Expensive and continued cost.
Recommended it? Yes

Strange as it may seem for a hardened gamer such as myself, I never really got into MMPORGs the way many of my friends and associates have. Sure, I wasted far too many hours of my life on one particularly large MUD, but somehow the graphical interface of the MMPORG always seemed to take away from... Read full review »

Pros You will fall in love with some of the characters.  Humorous and creative.
Cons Very hard to control with a keyboard and mouse.  Serious sound problems.  Dated...
Recommended it? No

Two facts made me want to try Psychonauts.  One: the game is made by Tim Schafer, the man behind one of my favorite PC games of all time: Grim Fandango.  And two: people with a PlayStation 2 and an Xbox have been calling it the best game they've ever played.  Well I don't own a...
