Pros Quiet & smooth operation, fast data accessing, large capacity, reliable

My favorite large capacity hard drive is a 120GB. I used to run my computer under Windows 2000 (Win2k), the pre Service Pack version that does not support any drive larger than 137GB (since it cannot access space beyond that number). Therefore, a 120GB was the largest hard drive that I could use... Read full review »

Pros Reasonably fast - Quiet - Reportedly reliable - Reasonably priced.
Cons Installation may be a bit problematic
Recommended it? Yes

What are the Harddrive Interfaces

When I started building my own pc's the fastest ata(IDE) was 33MB/s. This was about 1986/87 . Of course the actual transfer rate was about 10 to 25 % slower than the maximum at the time and still is. This includes the 66/100/133 MB/s bandwidth available... Read full review »

Cons 1) Size
Recommended it? Yes

I have been using four of these drives in about 3 different SATA raid configurations for a year now. I have tested them on AMD to Intel boxes in Windows and Linux with no problems. They are very quiet and quite fast. With all four spinning the sound of the cpu fan is still louder!
