What are the Harddrive Interfaces

When I started building my own pc's the fastest ata(IDE) was 33MB/s. This was about 1986/87 . Of course the actual transfer rate was about 10 to 25 % slower than the maximum at the time and still is. This includes the 66/100/133 MB/s bandwidth available... Read full review »

Pros 1) MTBF is very low 2) NCQ and small platters. 3) Low heat.
Cons 1) Size
Recommended it? Yes

I have been using four of these drives in about 3 different SATA raid configurations for a year now. I have tested them on AMD to Intel boxes in Windows and Linux with no problems. They are very quiet and quite fast. With all four spinning the sound of the cpu fan is still louder!

Pros Looks good, cheap.
Cons None so far
Recommended it? Yes

Back in 2001 when I started digital photography, maximum size of a photo I used to get was about 1.5MB and I was happy with my big 40GB harddrive. As time goes by, digital advance made my 40GB harddrive almost obsolate.. Point is, space is always a matter of time to be filled up by and I purchased... Read full review »

Seagate 1 TB External Hard Drive

Pros A good buy at $75 right now with plenty of room for data.
Cons This product does hummm a little when it is processing.
Recommended it? Yes

I bought one of these about a year ago and it is still humming along fine. It looks sleek and not cheesy, it is more or less perfect for storing all of my music and pictures and truck rally videos. Unplug it when it is not in use because it will use a little power if it is still plugged in. Read full review »
