May Not be the Largest, but Certainly the Quietest...and Fast

Pros Quiet & smooth operation, fast data accessing, large capacity, reliable

My favorite large capacity hard drive is a 120GB. I used to run my computer under Windows 2000 (Win2k), the pre Service Pack version that does not support any drive larger than 137GB (since it cannot access space beyond that number). Therefore, a 120GB was the largest hard drive that I could use... Read full review »

Pros Reasonably fast - Quiet - Reportedly reliable - Reasonably priced.
Cons Installation may be a bit problematic
Recommended it? Yes

(Note) This review is written pretty much from the perspective of a computer idiot (hence the name of the review). I'm not familiar with most of the technical terms for hard drives. Specs don't mean much to me....although I can usually deduce which products are better by looking at the specs... Read full review »

Fast SATA II drive is a very good value

bykubotabx2200 Dec 5, 2006
13 Helpfuls 14 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Fast speed, 16 MB cache, supports SATA II, quiet, good price.
Cons Warranty 1 year is a little short. 7,200 RPM limits speed of SATA II.
Recommended it? Yes

I bought this 250 GB Western Digital Caviar drive for a scant $49 a CompUSA when they had a $90 rebate on it. Watch out for their weekend deals which start on Sunday mornings, they often feature a good price on a hard drive.

A more typical "good" price for this drive is $69-79 so if you... Read full review »

Pros Fast! Quiet! & Cool! Great Value too!

I purchased this hard drive(HD) from CompUsa for $59 after rebate, which is an EXCELLENT price for an internal SATA2 250 Gig hard drive with 16 mb cache.
I purchased it to use as a 2nd drive for video editing.
My primary drive is a Seagate Baracuda 80 gig (the major competitor to this... Read full review »
