Probably the best processor of 2006

bytowel401 Jan 25, 2007

Pros Very fast and cheap
Cons No transparent or glow in the dark version available.
Recommended it? Yes

Not the fastest, but definitely the best. Of course I won't count expensive special-purpose processors or any of that. Usually when some company releases a new line of processors they go out of their way to create immense hype, then when they finally release the product it is dead expensive. This... Excellent Mid Priced Cpu

byeddielakr Jun 20, 2007
9 Helpfuls 10 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Very Fast, Affordable, Great Overclocker, works well in vista
Cons Cpu prices drop, Runs very hot, Original fan is bad
Recommended it? Yes

I purchased this on Ebay for approximately $155 brand new with the heatsink/retail fan.

Intel came out with a duo core 2 processor. The processor is not like the old intel pentium chip, because these run as 2 processors built into one. What this does is making your programs run quite a... Read full review »

Pros Radeon HD 6550D coupled with AMD Quad Core in a single FM1 chip, 32nm die
Cons Poor stock heatsink, removed L3 cache which penalizes processors in certain applications
Recommended it? No

With little media fanfare during the month of June 2011, AMD and ATI released the AMD A8 3850 APU and dealt Intel a huge blow to their reputation as a leader in PC innovation. The AMD Fusion series of processors feature an accelerated processing unit or APU that is a first for any major chip... A fairly priced APU with fair graphics abilities.

Pros Cheap
Integrated Graphics
2.9 GHz clock
Cons Not as fast as the more expensive ones
Recommended it? Yes

I was anticipating the release of Skyrim, and as a newly converted PC gamer, I decided that this was going to be the best decision for me. The A8-3850 APU combined a moderate clock speed with integrated graphics in order to power a very affordable, yet still capable processor. The A8-3850 is not as... Read full review »
