The Dell UltraSharp 1504FP 15" Flat Panel Color Monitor was designed to accommodate a wide variety of users ranging from home and small offices to large corporate environments. Utilizing an Active Matrix TFT LCD, the monitor displays sharp and brilliant images of text and graphics with a maximum resolution up to 1024 x 768 pixels. This monitor has a wider viewing angle, which allows users to view the screen from various positions without compromising image quality. Its higher contrast ratio generates sharper, crisper lines and images. The fast response time provides superior clarity for moving images with "no ghosting" and premium brightness allows for brilliant images with blacker blacks and richer colors. Using DVI with a flat panel will result in better front of screen performance with crisper and clearer images. This monitor is ideal for word processing, emailing, making spreadsheets, and browsing the Internet. Those who require exceptional quality and reliability at an afforda... Less

"The 24-inch display makes it easier and more affordable for customers to multitask by viewing spreadsheets and blueprints in their full sizes and positioning multiple applications or Web pages next to each other without losing content. It also reduces the need to scroll within large documents and toggle between application windows.\nThe 2405FPW includes a 9-in-1 memory card reader on the side of the panel for a convenient way to download files and photos. Four USB 2.0 ports make it easy to attach devices such as keyboards, secondary hard drives and printers without having to crawl under a desk to search for inputs on a computer system.\nWith S-Video, composite and component inputs, the 2405FPW can be hooked up to a video camera, gaming console, DVD player or cable box. Picture-in-picture (PIP) and picture-by-picture (PBP) modes4, which can be enabled with the touch of a button, allow users to watch content from a video input and view their PC simultaneously, on a single display."\n Less

Dell 1504FP Flat Panel LCD Monitor: Makes Me Miss My Viewsonic Even More

byquasar Jun 1, 2004

Pros cord guide at the back of monitor, reasonable at 1024x768
Cons must use at 1024x768, pixelation effects, very poor connector location, badly designed...
Recommended it? No

I'm not a big fan of LCD monitors. One of my biggest problems with them is that, in general, they only look sharp at one resolution. If you want to use a different resolution it usually looks jagged and fuzzy even if it's technically supported. They also tend to require head on viewing for clarity... Read full review »

I bought this monitor used for $100 - and boy was it worth it.
The monitor has DVI and Analog inputs, this is impressive as it's a 15" monitor.
The monitor also is height adjustable, you can slide it up and down to select any height you want, very nice. The screen also tilts toward\away,... Read full review »

Pros Large, crisp, bright image with none of the ghosting seen on many LCDs.
Cons Prohibitively expensive and difficult to set up for a novice computer user.
Recommended it? Yes

My adventure with Dell started about a month ago when I first ordered the monitor. It was a "gift" from Uncle Sam using the ol' tax refund. I ordered online, and everything was confirmed with Dell's usual automation process. For anyone who hasn't seen or used it, I've found it fairly streamlined... Read full review »

Pros Resolution, Scan rate (12ms), Color, Quality, Number of inputs, Price.
Cons 480p looks terrible (component) & USB/MemoryCard functionality is in a bad place.

This monitor is amazing! I am a gamer and I work with a multi-display setup so I know a thing or two about displays. Before purchasing this LCD panel I had 3 ViewSonic 20.1" (VP2000S) displays. They were fantastic but I longed for a widescreen monitor for the center so I could run a crazy... Read full review »
